Trenton Skydive
Frequently Asked Questions about your New Jersey Skydive:
1. What is Tandem Skydiving?
During a Tandem Skydive, which requires
only minimal instruction, you are harnessed to an
instructor for the entire jump. This is the most common type of skydive for beginners and first-time skydivers.
2. What is Accelerated Free
Fall Skydiving?
Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) is your
quickest route to becoming a certified skydiver.
For approximately 50 seconds of each jump (during freefall), you will
be accompanied and guided by expert instructors. You then land under your own parachute with radio guidance.
Most of our affiliates offer AFF skydives from 14,000
feet.
3.
How will I know how I am doing in the AFF Course?
After each skydive, our affiliate's instructors
debrief you on the jump. They also offer videos of
each jump. The videos give you a visual of how you
are doing, and you will want to keep the entire video
set in order to record the exciting journey to your
skydiving certification.
4. What does freefall feel
like?
Free Fall feels like you are hovering
on a cushion of air. You experience a buoyancy similar
to floating in water, but the freefall thrill is
infinitely greater. You have got to experience an New Jersey
Skydive!
5. What happens if I do not
open my parachute?
Opening your parachute is very easy.
You simply throw a toggle into the airflow, and it
opens the parachute.
If, during your jump, you were to lose
altitude awareness, our affiliate's instructors would guide you
via hand signals, directing you to open your parachute.
If you did not respond to the instructors' directions,
the instructors would open your parachute for you.
And there is yet another safety valve
to ensure you enjoy a safe jump, should neither you
nor your instructors open your parachute, Your parachute
is fitted with an automatic activation device (AAD) that
would, if needed, open your parachute for you.
6.
After I open my parachute, will it be easy to find
the landing zone and fly the parachute to the target
landing area?
Yes, it will be easy to both find the
landing zone and to fly your parachute to the designated
area. The DZ is clearly marked.
And, to make things even easier, we
will talk you down via a radio mounted on your gear.
Also, you will have a terrific time
flying a parachute canopy across the sky at approximately
20 mph.
7. Will I have a safe landing?
Yes.
Our affiliate vendors use only the latest ram air canopies,
and they will provide you a feather-soft landing.
We make your New Jersey skydive thrilling AND safe.
